IPIRP COURSE TERMS OF USE
By registering for the NYSP program you agree to and understand the following:
GENERAL
By registering for this program you certify under penalty of perjury that you will complete the entire course without assistance, abide by all terms of the contract and will not knowingly accept a course completion certificate if the course has not been completed. NYSP retains the right to monitor your participation and cancel your enrollment contract if we believe someone other than the enrolled student has been participating in the course. You will not be eligible for a refund.
INTERNET POINT AND INSURANCE REDUCTION PROGRAM (IPIRP)
The Internet Point and Insurance Reduction Program (IPIRP), approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles, is available through private companies or corporations called "Course sponsors" throughout New York State. Each qualifying course must meet strict standards for safe driving information presented and program effectiveness. If you complete an approved IPIRP course:
1) It will help refresh your driving knowledge with a review of time-tested safe driving tips and an overview of today's vehicle and traffic laws.
2) You may be eligible to reduce as many as four (4) points on your driving record. The DMV computer will automatically note your eligibility to receive the reduction.
3) If you are the principal operator of a motor vehicle, you will receive a minimum 10% reduction in the base rate of your automobile and motorcycle liability and collision insurance premiums each year for three years.
MINIMUM TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
The NYSP IPIRP course will work with both PC and Mac computers and with any major web browser. In addition, the browser needs to support JavaScript and have the Adobe Flash plug-in version 8 or greater. An Internet connection with a dial up modem of 28.8 bps or any high speed connection is also needed to connect to the course.
MINIMUM COURSE REQUIREMENTS
I. Minimum Instruction Time
The NYSP IPIRP course is 320 minutes in length as required by the New York Department of Motor Vehicles. Students must complete the course within 30 days of registration.
II. Graded Exams
You will be required to complete a final exam as part of the course. The final exam will consist of 20 questions and the student will be given 3 opportunities to pass. The student must answer at least 15 questions correctly in order to pass the course. If the student does not pass on the first attempt, his/her score from previous attempts is combined for a cumulative score. Students that are unable to correctly answer at least 15 questions cumulatively after 3 attempts are failed from the course.
III. Satisfaction Survey
All students are required to complete a satisfaction survey upon completing the course.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION POLICY
Same day certificate processing is valid when you complete the course by 5 pm (EST) on regular business days Monday through Friday excluding holidays. If you complete the course after 5 pm (EST) or on a weekend or holiday, your certificate will be processed the following business day.
I. Automatic submission to the Department of Motor Vehicles
Course completions information is automatically submitted to the DMV on the student's behalf.
II. Shipping
One (1) free hard copy of the course completion certificate is also mailed to the student for submission to the insurance company. A $10 fee will apply for any duplicate certificate requests.
Unless otherwise requested by the student, completion certificates are mailed via regular First Class Mail through the USPS. Delivery time is estimated at 3-5 business days but not guaranteed. Express and tracking delivery options are available for an additional fee. Students are given the option to choose a shipping method before completing the course or by calling customer service at (888) 292-0397. If you are pressed for time, it is recommended that you choose an expedited shipping method.
NYSP is not responsible for certificates delayed or lost by the USPS or FedEx. Shipping problems with USPS or FedEx must be directed to that company's customer service department.

You will be required to provide answers to 10 personal validation questions as part of the registration process. Then, during the course you will be prompted to call our 24-hour toll free number to verify your identity.
PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICY
I. Payment Information
We request financial information (credit or debit card number and expiration date) from the customer through our electronic payment submission form. This information is used for billing purposes only. Credit card numbers are stored securely and accessible only to authorized NYSP management.
II. Refund Policy
NYSP does not grant refunds for any reason. Students, who fail any part of the course including the ID validation or the final exam, may begin a new course at no extra charge.
Any student (regardless of validation method) who has not successfully completed the course within 30 days will be terminated without notice and will not be eligible for a refund of any kind.
EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS
The student is required to provide an email address at registration. NYSP communicates with students primarily via email. Many of these emails are automatically generated including login information, confirmation of registration, confirmation of completion, and confirmation of cancellation.
To ensure that you receive emails, it is important that students place NYSP on their email's "safe" or "white" list. Not doing so may cause these emails to be placed in the junk folder or deleted by the email program. NYSP is not responsible for any loss that may occur as a result of deleted or lost email communications.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
The information provided within the course is accurate to the best of our knowledge. However, no guarantee of suitability for any purpose is offered or implied. No responsibility is assumed by NYSP for any use, or for any consequences resulting from any use of the information.
NYSP is not responsible for Internet connectivity issues with the student's computer.

NYSP is the sole owner of this information and will not use or sell this information to promote products or services unrelated to this traffic safety course or in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.
Third Parties

Notification of Changes
All changes to the privacy policy will be posted on the NYSP website. Information collected, how it is used, and under what circumstances, if any, will be disclosed. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
If, however, we plan to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email or by posting a notice on our website for 30 days.
DISPUTE POLICY
By registering for the NYSP program you agree to submit any dispute arising under this agreement, except a dispute alleging criminal violations or seeking punitive damages or damages for mental anguish, to arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Better Business Bureau (Binding). A volunteer arbitrator will render a decision based upon fairness, not necessarily upon legal principals, but it will be final and binding on both parties. Judgment on the decision may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. You will not have to pay anything for arbitration.
This agreement to arbitrate affects important legal rights. Neither you nor NYSP will be able to go to court for a dispute once there is an agreement to arbitrate.
